This website was created in 2005-6 by William (Bill) Edward Henry, of Houston, PA, who offered it as a public service from 2009 to 2020, a home for information about his distant relative Edward Leroy Tabler, an Illinois Civil War soldier (1862-1865). It contains Tabler's CW diaries, family documents and soldiering activities in the 51st Illinois Infantry Voluntary Regiment, Company K.

Following Bill's death in 2020, Dr. Lucy Tabler, his Life Partner, continues to offer the website as a public service, in honor of his great intellect, perseverance in research, and loving spirit. Welcome.
