Fifty-First Illinois Regimental Monument in the East Viniard Field

Monuments of the Twenty-Second Illinois, Twenty-Seventh Illinois, and Forty-Second Illinois are nearby, as are those of other Federal units that were engaged at the Viniard Farm. This view looks from the "eminence" straight west to the Lafayette Road and, in the distance, the west Viniard field—from whence Bradley's Brigade made its attack.
